This page sets out the full apostille price in Singapore, so you can compare quotes on the same basis. Every apostille bill is built from up to four parts: the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) fee, notary public fees for private documents, an embassy fee for non-Hague countries, and a service charge if you use an agent like us. The first three are set by government or by law. Only the last one is ours.

We are a private service provider and are not affiliated with the Singapore Academy of Law. Government fees below are passed on at cost.

SAL apostille fees for public and notarised documents

SAL charges per document, and the fee depends on what the document is.

SAL serviceFee (incl. GST)Typical documents
Apostille on an original public documentSGD 10.70ICA birth and death certificates, ROM marriage certificates, NUS/NTU/SMU degrees, court orders
SAL copying a document before apostilleSGD 11.77 (SGD 10.70 + SGD 1.07 copying fee)Laminated originals SAL cannot stamp directly
Authentication of a notarised documentSGD 87.20Powers of attorney, passport copies, statutory declarations, company resolutions
e-Apostille on an ACRA documentSGD 10.70ACRA Business Profile or Business Certificate in digital format
e-Apostille on an e-notarised documentSGD 87.20Documents notarised through SAL's e-notarisation pilot

The SGD 87.20 authentication fee is paid upfront at the notary's office, which is why a notary usually quotes it together with their own fees. The SGD 10.70 fee is paid by Visa or Mastercard when the online request is made at legalisation.sal.sg. SAL does not accept cash, and its fees are non-refundable.

Notary public fees before SAL

Private documents must be notarised by a Singapore notary public before SAL can authenticate them. The Notaries Public Rules fix the fees for common notarial acts:

Notarial actFee
Notarial certificate with sealSGD 75
Execution or witnessing of a signature, first signerSGD 40
Second party signing the same documentSGD 20
Each further partySGD 10
Each exhibit marked or attachedSGD 10
Certified true copy with seal, first pageSGD 10
Certified true copy with seal, each further pageSGD 2
Certified true copy without sealSGD 5 first page, SGD 1 each further page

The execution fee and the notarial certificate are charged together. For a document signed by one person, government-scale fees therefore come to SGD 202.20: SGD 40 for the signature, SGD 75 for the notarial certificate and SAL's SGD 87.20. GST may be added on the notary's fees if the notary's practice is GST-registered. For copies, a five-page certified copy of a transcript costs SGD 18 in copy fees (SGD 10 + 4 × SGD 2), plus the notarial certificate.

Public documents, such as an ICA birth certificate, do not need a notary. You only pay notary fees for them if you choose to apostille a notarised copy, for example to keep the original.

Ways to pay

We accept all major payment methods:

  • PayNow
  • Bank transfer, with a tax invoice for companies
  • Credit or debit card
  • Cash at our Suntec office
  • Monthly invoice for corporate account clients, payable within 14 days

You can pay in advance, pay a deposit or pay in full. We pay SAL directly, and our receipt shows government fees and our fee separately.

Refunds and free correction. Our service fee is not refunded once work has started. Government, notary and embassy fees are never refundable, because they are paid to third parties. If a document is rejected or has an error because of something we should have caught, we correct it and reissue it free of charge. We redo our part at no cost and cover the repeat government fee. None of this affects your statutory rights under Singapore law. Full details are in our terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Costly mistakes we prevent

Get it right the first time

Most delays come from small problems spotted too late. We check every document before it reaches a notary, SAL or an embassy.

Paying SAL twice

SAL fees are non-refundable. If a document is rejected at the counter, you pay again.

Laminated or faded originals

SAL turns away laminated, altered or faded documents and broken QR codes.

A misspelt name

One wrong letter on a notarised translation means redoing the whole set.

Skipping the embassy step

Non-Hague countries such as the UAE and Malaysia do not accept an apostille on its own.

Questions we are asked

Apostille price FAQs

Why is a birth certificate cheaper to apostille than a power of attorney?

Because they follow different routes. A Singapore birth certificate is a public document, so SAL apostilles the original for SGD 10.70. A power of attorney is a private document, so a notary must witness the signature first, and SAL then charges SGD 87.20 to authenticate the notarisation. The notary's own fees are added on top.

Is GST included in the SAL fee?

Yes. SAL's published fees of SGD 10.70 and SGD 87.20 already include 9% GST, so nothing is added at the counter. Notary fees are different: GST may be charged on top if the notary's practice is GST-registered. Our quotes show every government fee and any GST as a separate line.

Do you charge per page or per document?

Per document. SAL charges per document or per notarial certificate, and our service fee is per document too. The only per-page charges are notary certified-copy fees (SGD 10 for the first page and SGD 2 for each further page) and translation, which is priced per page.

Are embassy fees included in your price?

No, embassy fees are quoted separately. Each embassy sets its own fees and may change them, and some, such as the UAE, collect them through their own online systems. Our handling starts from SGD 69 per document. We tell you the current embassy fee before you confirm and pass it on at cost, without a mark-up.

Can I pay by PayNow?

Yes. You can pay us by PayNow, and we also accept bank transfer, credit or debit card and cash. SAL itself only accepts Visa or Mastercard through its online system, so paying us lets us settle the SAL fee for you. You can pay in advance, pay a deposit or pay in full. Companies can also pay by bank transfer against a tax invoice.

What happens to my fee if SAL rejects the document?

SAL does not refund its fees, even for a rejected document. That is why we check for lamination, fading, alterations, faulty QR codes and language before submitting. If a document is rejected for a reason we should have caught, we correct it and reissue it free of charge, including the repeat government fee. If the document itself is defective, we explain what you need to fix.
